Between January 2009 and July 2013, 500 Indian sportspersons have failed drug tests conducted by the National anti doping agency, and of these 423 have been fined, a RTI reply says. With 113 violations, athletics tops the list, weight lifting recorded 92 violations while the other sports on the cheat list were kabaddi (58), bodybuilding (51), power lifting (42), wrestling (41), boxing (36) and judo (9). Earlier, a report by International Association of Athletics Federations had placed India second highest on the list of sport drug cheats.
