A Railway guard was killed and an employee of a steel plant critically injured when they fell from moving trains in two separate incidents, railway police said on Saturday.
E D V Sharma, guard of the Tata-Allepey Express, fell from the running train near Chakradharpur railway station and died on the spot on Friday, they said. The incident occurred when Sharma was returning to his home station at Rourkela after his duty hour.
In another incident, Anil Pahadia, an employee of the Bhusan steel plant of Jharsuguda, was critically injured when he fell from the Geetanjali Express near Bishra railway station, about 25 kms from here on Friday night.
He was immediately rushed to a government hospital, Rourkela in a critical condition.
