Does February have 31 days?

Even the leap that occurs once in four year has only 29 days. The 2012 is a leap year and already into February there will be 29 days this month.

But the Capital based Delhi Metro Rail Corporation strongly believes that this leap year will have 31 days.

No wonder this is happening a month after Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation E Sreedharan passed on the mantle to Mangu Singh on 31 December 2011.

The tender document issued by DMRC calling for Supply, installation and commissioning of smart card based Access Control System complete with flap barrier gates including Time and Attendance System and Visitor Management System for Metro Bhawan mentions the last date for submitting the tender on 31 February, 2012 till 3 PM.

Further the tender document mentions that its bids will be opened at 3.30 PM.

Of course one had to read the whole set of document to know the last date for submitting the tenders was 1 February instead of 31 February mentioned in the cover page of the tender document. The tender document is available on DMRC website.

The sale of tender began on 9 January.

One only hopes DMRC that had transformed transportation in the national capital will not be blind to such silly errors.
