Sibling rivalry in the DMK reached boiling point with the two factions supporting party president M. Karunanidhi’s sons MK Alagiri and MK Stalin taking to the streets to express their anger. The face off has been triggered by a suspension handed over to Alagiri which Karunanidhi claims is because he had uttered painful words against Stalin. The immediate benefits of this rivalry shall go to Jayalalitha’s AIADMK. The state has 39 Lok Sabha seats and any significant shift in voter preference will ultimately have an impact on national politics.Little wonder then than Jayalitha is not complaining.
