MK Alagiri has threatened to challenge the issue of his suspension legally. He says that the “influence” of a “friend” made his father, DMK chief, M Karunanidhi, take the suspension decision. Karunanidhi had said that it was the use of harsh words by Alagiri against his brother MK Stalin that had forced the decision which Alagiri is now labelling as foul of party rules as he was neither given a notice, nor the opportunity to explain his position. He has continued to criticise the party and has maintained that he will neither leave it nor quit.
