Maoists leaders have said that police are harassing and beating innocent tribals in the name of flushing out rebels.
Notably, a week back state police DGP Anil M Navani had said that the security forces have stepped up pressure on naxals and because of this the ultras are feeling the pressure and wanted to stop the operations by hurling such allegations. He added that police have killed 14 naxals during recent combing operations.
A senior maoist leader has alleged that one tribal was killed after police accused him of being naxal accomplice. He also alleged that police have detained several tribals for questioning and they could be killed in fake encounter.
Maoists have long accused the government of usurping the natural resources after driving the tribals out of their forest habitat.
