Want a bit of spice in life! Some friends have suggested this novel way of getting over the mid-life crisis. It is tried and tested, they say, try infidelity-a harmless and not a prolonged stint is the most effective, experienced ones share.

Infidelity, it is said, is as old as marriage. And interestingly, it is in vogue these days. The reason that is handed over in discussions with friends who have dropped over the weekend is simple- we've been married over for so long and that excitement has got lost. And this is fun for free, no strings attached.

Although, men by nature are polygamous, it is not anymore that the women are not taking the lead. And an affair between two partners who are married is being considered more safe. They both know, though do not discuss that it is only for the pleasure of it, mainly sexual in nature to be precise. And it is fun.

There is no guilt involved. One is looking for that mental and physical stimulation that the marriage has failed to provide. And since the other commitments that a marriage asks for is being taken care of , why be guilty over adding a bit of spice in life! It is a mere companionship that also has the possibility of changing over time.

An affair can be a catalyst, to bring back that spark in marriage. After all, the intention is also very clear. It is only to make the marriage even more beautiful and livable that one is taking to this route.

At a recent get together, this senior in age journo friend shared the story of her friend who had gone for this forbidden fruit. Oh! She so loved it, she said. She wondered, why did she do it, and the answer was poker faced, straight and simple, just for the heck of it. To experience what it feels like. And no points for guessing what it was like. Plain bliss! No regrets.

You become as good as a virgin, when you are into your forties. And an extra marital affair is as good as losing it, the friend's friend had said. The experience is just that- when you did it the first time. It begins with platonic, ends up getting physical, and if the fundas are clear, it is only fun.

You only need to experience it to believe it, so why ponder, why not take the plunge! Any takers?
