Unity in diversity

 

 

The cover story “It happens only in India” (TSI, October 5-11) captures all hues of the colorful subcontinent. It showed India is perhaps the only country, where over a billion people, all from diverse backgrounds co-exist. India is depicted as a nation which has managed to shake hands with modernity while not compromising on its traditional ideas. The articles attempt to edify people about a country which was till now perceived as a slumdog. It’s a country which has risen from being a land of snake-charmers to a rising economy set to become a global superpower. It’s the world’s biggest democracy where people hate the people whom they elected; where people make rules and break them. Truly, this happens only in India!
