The United States and Russia have failed to agree on a common date for the next round of Syrian Peace Conference in spite of the UN intervention in Geneva. “We were hoping that we’d be in a position to announce a date today, unfortunately we’re not,” UN-Arab League special envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi was reported as saying early this week.“We will meet again at the end of the month hoping that we’ll be able to have the conference before the end of the year,” he further added. US has been postponing the date under the optimism that rebels will take a few towns to remain in the bargaining position.
