The government has lined up a number of cultural and sports programmes in Bihar centenary diwas celebrations over the next six months, a senior official said on Thursday.
A 14-nation Kabaddi world cup would be hosted in March next which would be preceded by a 16-team national football tournament here in February, the Principal Secretary (HRD) Anjani Kumar Singh told reporters.
An all-India police meet (sports) will be held in Patna in February next year, he said.
A number of cultural and academic programmes, like SPICMACAY, national science exhibition, painting competition, recitation of mythology Ramayana will be held from November onwards as part of the celebrations, Singh said.
Various cultural programmes will be held in premier tourist destinations like Vaishali and Bodh Gaya to create awareness among the visitors about the glorious history of Bihar.
The government has invited internationally acclaimed painters like Subodh Gupta and others to depict the glorious past of the state, he said.
