Sheila meets Sonia; downplays reshuffle rumours

Amid speculations of possible elevation from the post of Chief Minister to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday met Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The meeting has given strength to the ongoing rumours but downplaying the whole thing Sheila Dikshit told the reporters, “It was a routine meeting”.

According to the sources, the Chief Minister in her meeting with Sonia Gandhi discussed the water privatisation and Akbarabadi Masjid issue. It is learnt that Sheila Dikshit went to take nod on water privatization.

According to sources, Congress high command has asked Sheila Dikshit to deal the Akbarabadi Mosque issue very carefully. The rumours of possible elevation continued to hog the talks in the corridors of power.

The issue of Health Minister Dr. A. K. Walia cancelling his US visit at the last minute and the reason for cancellation was also the issue of discussion among the journalists and bureaucrats. Dr. A. K. Walia cancelled his visit saying that due to power cuts in his area people gathered at his residence which forced him to cancel his US visit.
