Sehwag aims patient knock at Adelaide

India's dashing opener Virendra Sehwag is credited with many explosive innings in his career but in the current Australian series he has struggled badly. In the last three tests he could add only 118 runs.

Aussie bowlers have done a tremendous job by keeping Sehwag's bat quiet in the last six innings. And now Sehwag on Monday accepted that the current Australian bowlers are the best he has faced till date and they have really tested his patience.

In the absence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is facing one match ban because of slow over rate, Sehwag will be leading Team India in the fourth and final test starting from Tuesday.

India has already lost the series by conceding 0-3 lead. Sehwag has averaged just 19.67 and added only 118 runs. He will be under tremendous pressure to stop Australians from winning the Adelade test and going for a whitewash.

"This is the best bowling attack I have seen, especially Australia. They are not giving easy balls to hit boundaries, they are playing with your patience," conceded Sehwag.

Sehwag always looks for the loose balls to send across the rope but in this series Australian bowlers hasn't given him room to play his shots.

"I think they are bowling in good areas. They are not giving easy balls to hit boundaries. Generally, when I played in the past, I will get a couple of balls in early overs to hit boundaries but against this attack, I hardly get balls to hit," he said.

Ben Hilfenhaus has got 23 wickets at the average of 16 and Peter Siddle has struck 17 times at the average of 19.58. These two Aussie bowlers have been mainly successful in keeping Sehwag quiet and putting Indian team on toes.

The Indian opener is now compelled to rely on patience to add some runs in the fourth and final test and get himself back on track.

"I think I have to show some patience. If I show patience, I will get some balls to hit for boundaries. It's a challenge, it's a great bowling attack and everyone is looking forward to do well against them," said Sehwag.

The best start in this series which Sehwag has given with his opening partner Gautam Gambhir is 24 runs. If he really wants to do something for himself and for India he needs to play a big inning at Adelaide.
