Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will start his movement against black money and corruption on Thursday in the presence of huge crowd, which started to gather at Ramlila Ground since Tuesday night.

While talking to the journalists, movement’s central in-charge Rakesh Mittal said that Baba Ramdev would reach New Delhi from Gujarat on Thursday morning. Then he will go straight to Raj Ghat and then Shaheedi Park where he will pay homage to the martyrs of the country. Then he will leave for Ramlila Maidan where he will address the people.

Thursday will mark the 70th anniversary of Quit India movement.

When asked about the presence of Anna Hazare and his erstwhile team at Ramlila Ground on Thursday, one of the members of the team, Ved Pratap Vaidik said this is a movement for all the social, religious and all other organisations and all are welcome to join us.

Informing the media, Vaidik said, “There will also be candle marches across the country and protests at district headquarters. This movement will be held at 4000 thousand Tehsils and 600 districts across the country.”

Though the movement starts from Thursday but the crowd had started gathering at Ramlila ground from Tuesday night itself and Delhi Police had to start security checks from Wednesday afternoon.

Metal detectors and 60 CCTV cameras have been stalled at Ramlila ground.

The depth of arrangement to accommodate the crowd can be ascertained from the fact that most of the space in Ramlila Ground has been covered with tents to accommodate people coming from all over the country.

The yoga guru had staged a similar protest at the same venue in June 2011. But a midnight crackdown by Delhi Police ended in bedlam, leaving a woman dead. Ramdev was then forced to leave Delhi.

The yoga guru has been allowed to hold the ground till Aug 30.
