Senior Congress leader and Ernakulam District Congress Committee President V.J. Poulose, accused of insulting Sri Narayana Guru, a revered guru of Ezhava community, has formally apologised to the Sri Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP).
The other day state home minister and CM Ommen Chandy’s trusted troubleshooter Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had promised to the SNDP leaders that he would refer the matter to Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ramesh Chennithala. On Wednesday morning, V.J. Poulose, along with senior leaders V.D. Satheeshan, Dominic Presentation and Ajay Tharayil, met SNDP Yogam chief Vellappalli Nateshan.
After the meeting V.J. Poulose told TSI that he submitted a letter to SNDP General Secretary apologizing for his words if they hurt the Ezhava community and later on both of them addressed the media. Poulose is confident that the matter has been put to rest.
SNDP General Secretary Vellappally Nateshan told TSI that Poulose gave him a letter of apology. The letter will be discussed in the SNDP Yogam state council meeting scheduled to take place on the 28th September. Yogam will then take a decision accordingly.
Meanwhile, SNDP followers went ahead with the scheduled march to Ernakulam DCC office today demanding the resignation of V.J. Poulose. The 10,000 strong rally affected the traffic system in Ernakulam.
