Overcrowding in National Park threatening leopards The overcrowding of wild species in Van Vihar-National Park in Bhopal-and bureaucratic delay in shifting animals like leopards have threatened their existence and even made them prone to attacks by jackals.

The delay in shifting leopards is attributed to National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) that has not yet decided on the issue.

Authorities say that they have completed all the formalities of numbering, capturing the animals but are still waiting for the decision of NTCA officials.

Following this delay, the summer heat has started taking its toll on the animals with the green cover drying up fast.

According to officials, around 435 animals will be shifted to Satpura Tiger Reserve, Ratapani Tiger Reserve and Rajamandal National Park.
