Being married to one of the richest businessman is a distinction in itself. But, Nita was never content being known merely as Mukesh Ambani’s wife. She was always active socially, though not a page 3 regular, and has contributed in fields of education and healthcare.
Spotted by the matriarch Kokilaben at a dance recital in Mumbai, Nita was married to Mukesh, at a very young age. But soon she was seen taking active interest in her husband’s business. She is said to be the brain behind RIL’s
Jamnagar refinery project, a part of which she supervised herself. She not only founded swanky Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City on a 140 acre plot in Navi Mumbai but has also designed it as well. At one point she was touted to head Reliance’s retail operations. Being a qualified interior designer, she has designed most of Reliance retail outlets
herself.
The Big deal
Wife of industrialist, Mukesh Ambani, she has her own take on money. “Money is Lakshmi, but Lakshmi without Saraswati does not mean much,” the Ambani bahu says. After successfully accomplishing her task in Jamnagar, the largest petro-chemical complex in India, she intends to create a modern, health care facility for the poor.
