Need for a change

I fully agree with the views of Prasoon S Majumdar in the article that governance in India is over-burdened with expensive and inefficient bureaucracy and corrupt leadership due to which the common man finds himself caught between the two stones of rolling mill. Nothing appears right in the way the country is being governed with corruption in existence at all levels. Due to this, the democratic-political system is rotten from top to bottom. Thus as corruption became a hallmark of public life with politicians spending millions in elections. In the absence of a serious debate in the parliament about the need to end corruption and check on entry of criminals and tainted persons into politics, one only finds corruption rising at an alarming rate has assumed monstrous proportions. In order to see democracy function effectively, the entire system needs overhauling with change in our ethos, character, calibre and commitment. Only then, corruption which is a bane in our society can be put to an end.
