Ace shooter Gagan Narang Sunday waved off the chequered flag at the Formula One Indian Grand Prix 2012 here.
Terming it a great moment in his life, the London Olympic bronze medalist told The Sunday Indian, “It is a very nice feeling to be in the same league with Sachin. Now people are recognising the contribution of other sportspersons as well,”
“It is a great initiative by the organisers to call an Olympic medalist,” he added.
Gagan was proud to see that India is capable of holding such events in a successful manner. According to him, it is great opportunity for the people of the country to connect with F1 and know about this race.
When asked about his favourite F1 team, he said, “For me the entire race was very exciting. Though, the battle between Alonso and Vettel was the best.”
Lauding Sahara Force India for floating an Indian Formula One team, Gagan said, “Sahara Force India has done a tremendous job by floating an Indian Team."
