In the article "Demographic Disaster" by Prasoon Majumdar (TSI, Nov 16-22), author made a revelation that all those things or developments which shows that the growth of India towards being a developed country are partly true. A country cannot develop unless and until it looks after the basic needs. And food for all, especially a well balanced nutritious diet, should be available to each and everyone. Also the data presented by the writer is heartrending and made me think that the country, which is one of the largest producer of wheat and rice in the world, is not able to provide sufficient food to its population due to inefficient resource allocation, is pathetic.
