Fighter Sindhu bows out of China Masters

PV Sindhu, the new golden girl of Indian Badminton lost her semi-final match of China Master's Super Series but before bowing out she has made it loud and clear that Chinese domination will continuously be challenged in coming tournaments as well.

Sindhu lost the first game 10-21 but came back strongly in second game to beat the local favourite 21-14. Once she was leading the third game as well but few mistakes cost her match. And she finally lost the bout to Jiang Yanjiao 10-21, 21-14, 19-21.

While talking to TSI, Sindhu's father PV Ramana, an Arjuna awardee, said, “with little bit of more experience she would have won this match as well. The match would have gone either way. She came back strongly in the second game. But few mistakes in the third game cost her match. She is just 17 so I am confident that she has a long way to go,” he added.

On Sindhu’s win over Olympic Champion Li Xuerui in the quarter-final, he said, “Oh! That was indeed a great moment. Sindhu was also very happy. She thoroughly dominated that match.”

The proud father feels his daughter has done well in the absence of seniors. When asked, is Sindhu proving to be another Saina Nehwal, he says, “Saina is a great player. We all respect her and her achievements. I just want Sindhu to perform well and keep on learning with each game she plays.”

Meanwhile, Sindhu has left for Japan to take part in Japanese Super series which kicks off on September 18th.
