The Eye-Q Super Speciality Eye Hospitals on Monday said it has received second round of funding (Series-B) from Helion Venture Partners and Nexus Venture Partners.

The hospital, which refused to share the deal size had received its first round of funding (Series A) in May 2010 from SONG Investment Advisors, a fund owned and managed by the Soros Economic Development Fund, Omidyar Network and Google.

"As part of the latest deal, the funds infused by the series-B investors will be used to add incremental centres to the current network of hospitals," the company said in a release.

Dr Rajat Goel, one of the founders of Eye-Q-Hospital said, "Eye-Q Hospitals' broad footprint in the North under a hub-and-spoke model has made available world-class eyecare at affordable rates to people in Tier-II and below towns. After the latest infusion of funds, Eye-Q will broad-base its operations for a national presence by spreading its wings to other regions."

"We believe Eye-Q has set an exemplary record in eyecare in the North. The key to success is the attention to details and process orientation of the organisation," Sanjeev Agarwal of Helion Ventures said.

Officials from Nexus Venture Partners also echoed similar sentiment.

Eye-Q hospitals was established in 2007 and currently has a chain of 16 super-speciality hospitals in Delhi, NCR, Haryana, UP, Uttarakhand and Gujarat.
