Predicting early Lok Sabha polls, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday said that the ongoing internal bickering and mistrust among the key UPA allies is responsible for the current political scenario in the country. He said that the Congress led UPA government is bound to crumble under its own weight.

Talking to the reporters in Chandigarh, Badal said it was ironical that UPA government which came into power claiming to be the votary of common man (Aam Admi) has now completely ignored this crucial section of the society by adopting anti-people stance.

The chief minister said the massive response given by the people for countrywide bandh called by the opposition parties reflected the simmering anger in the minds of the countrymen against the misrule of the UPA government.

Badal said the recent hike in the price of diesel by centre coupled with cap imposed on the supply of LPG cylinders has broken the backbone of the common man. He added that decision of the UPA to allow Foreign Direct Investment in retail sector will ruin the small traders in the country.

Terming the decisions of the UPA as anti-people, anti-farmer and anti-poor, Badal said the country is fed up with the government and expressed confidence that the voters will show doors to the UPA in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

He also stressed on the issue of discrimination against the states by the centre. He claimed Punjab is victim of this policy in particular.
