US Vice President Joe Biden has made an unscheduled visit to Tokyo as tensions mount between the US, its ally Japan and China after Beijing declared a new air defense zone in the East China Sea, similar to what has been implemented in the past by both Japan and the US. “We remain deeply concerned by the announcement of a new ADIZ,” Biden was reported as saying.
