Arindam Chaudhuri was very pragmatic in his editorial (TSI, November 30-December 6). According to the 2008 Global Hunger Index, India leads the world in hunger. India has over 200 million people who are still under poverty line. Our employment market has not yet improved. The poor and the middle classes are constantly complaining over the unstoppable rise in prices of essential commodities. And the security of the common man is quite often threatened by the terrorists. In this context, raking up a nearly two-decade-old issue is not only unnecessary, but also distracting. The comments by Arindam Chaudhuri over the controversy regarding the submission of the Liberhan Report and its leakage are very much valid.
