The 'romantic' era of the Bombay Mafia is well and truly over and Haji Mastan and Karim Lala fade into the sunset as a new king emerges. The son of a police constable, Dawood Ibrahim, kills all his rivals in a notorious gang war to emerge as the undisputed Mafia don with extensive links with some corrupt cops and politicians. Dawood currently resides in Karachi and has successfully fused mafia operations with jehadi terrorism. Many in Bombay are convinced that some top politicians are still on his pay roll.
