So let's get a couple of things straight...I am terrible at holding onto things and when it comes to phones, I am jinxed...
Is it me or Americans who need an excuse to celebrate and shop on July 4. The American Independence Day just went by and the whole nation was in a sort of frenzy.
As I write this blog, I am also crooning shaggy's "in the summertime" as it plays in the background. So the crux of all this talk is that summer is here. After having lived in Delhi the most part of my life, summer was my least favorite time, given the fact that the heat is brutal and the sun is piercing.
So after the mini hurdle of a written driving test, I knew it was time for a mammoth task. I was standing face to face with the real deal and I thought,"how difficult would it be, given I'd be driving an automatic car"?
I have always enjoyed the passenger seat. My friends and family were generous enough to chauffeur me around. But sometimes on those blissful windy Delhi days, it did cross my mind to get behind the wheel. But then, right those seconds someone would honk, or pop up in front of the car out of nowhere or simply break a traffic light. So I would chicken out!
In my opinion, time is a funny thing. Everytime you rewind it, it leaves you with different emotions. As my parents' first offspring, I have had a peculiar relationship with my folks. The word evolution only begins to describe it and my two siblings are thorough witnesses to the various painful stages of that evolution.
As someone who admires fashion, some things deeply trouble me; stuff worth thousands of dollars and the fakes that get a thousand glances. I don't know what it is about designers that makes America go crazy. It could be accessibility, availability or simply the Chinese goods invasion. Whatever it is, it makes for a blog for sure
It looks like I have had exciting past few weeks – the promenade and the beach. But last weekend, we decided to head out of the city and go to San Diego. Ever since I shifted here, I had been very curious to see the sea world; mostly because of the unlimited sea creatures one gets to experience there.
It's not everyday that one gets to experience America for what really it's worth. Well, I am not referring to the open roads and the fast cars, or cool winds and the California sun. I am referring to something that is a constant yet it gets unnoticed.
To many Americans, Osama's death meant sweet revenge and a massive blow to terrorism. After all, he is the one alleged to be responsible for the 9/11 attacks. I had actually forgotten all about Osama Bin Laden. In fact, I believe, many Americans too had forgotten like me.
I was the girl who the boys chose as the mediator to talk to the girls they liked. And girls, well, they avoided me. I didn't look as pretty or girly as the rest of them in my class. I played with the boys and got dirty. A lot! Any way, college was going to be different, I decided.
I think I have managed to own a pet without actually having one. Lets just say, I get to have my cake and eat it too. The tough part is teaching it tricks. The cat can be very stubborn and lazy. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a bowl of milk to serve.
I am well aware that the nation is crazy about the khans who pretty much rule it. I totally love Aamir, Shahrukh and even Salman. But as a movie enthusiast, I feel a part of the kingdom should also fairly belong to some others like Ajay Devgn
While growing up, did you have at least one kid in your high school class who showed-off about his American uncle and the goodies he would get when he visits? I did.
