Shiv Nadar University launches Greater Noida campus

The Shiv Nadar Foundation on Wednesday announced the launch of Shiv Nadar University at Dadari in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The university has started undergraduate courses in engineering and natural sciences from the session 2011-12.

The university will launch School of Social Sciences and Humanities for the academic session 2012-13 and will also annouce the launch of its first research centre in Mathematics and Information technology.

Speaking on the occasion, Shiv Nadar, Founder and Chairman-HCL, Shiv Nadar Foundation, said: "World class educational institutions play a strategic role in contributing to knowledge and human capital needs of the country. Excellence in global education is driven by the research, cross-disciplinary learning and the ability to attract the best faculty and students. The university will have sharp focus on research and inter-disciplinary education.”

Former President APJ Abdul Kalam was also present on the occasion.
