Movie Review: Son Of Sardaar

If you talk about the storyline, this film has no script. It revolves around familiar theme of family feud where Sandhu's are vexed against Randhawa's. Jassi, the lead played by Ajay Devgn, is lone survivor in the Sandhu family, with others already falling victim to the family rivalry. However, after 25 years, Jassi returns from abroad to claim his ancestral property and ends up finding shelter in the home of the Randhawa's. Following the tradition of not harming the guest, the Randhawa's are forced to play host to their enemy whom they had sweared to murder. Whether the Randhawa's manage to kill the last Sandhu is all about the movie.

The film is packed with comedy and the dialogues between Ajay and Sonakshi and Ajay and Sanjay Dutt force audience to burst into laughter. Through this movie, Ajay has once again prooved his credentials in a comedy role. He has aptly copied a character of a sikh youth and his labour is quite evident. So has Sonakshi, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Dutt done justice to their roles.

Despite excellent performances by all the lead characters, a weak storyline ends up characters looking slightly confused throughout the movie. Some of the scenes, specially the action scenes where Sandhu's are seen roaming around with naked swords, seems unreal and out of space and time. Even in the direction some goof-ups are visible and some scenes are stretched unnecessarily. However, the songs in the film have already made its mark and finally the choreography is excellent.

The release of the film clashed with Diwali, which is bound to help gain business, however, if you plan to go for the movie, do not expect too much out of it.
