A special CBI court hearing the 2G case granted exemption from personal appearance to accused and Cineyug Films director Karim Morani for Indian Premier League (IPL) matches but warned him not to play tricks with the court.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge O.P. Saini made the remarks after he found that over 200 out of the 410 miscellaneous applications filed in the case by defence counsel contained major mistakes.
"These are tricks being played in the court. I have told all of you to please be honest. I will allow your applications but please be honest," Judge Saini said.
The court allowed exemption to Morani from personal appearance April 16-19.
Morani's counsel Sandeep Kapoor said they had never played any tricks with the court and requested the judge to allow his client to attend IPL matches of Kolkata Knight Riders team scheduled for April 15 and 18.
