Monsoon may get delayed in Odisha

There would be no relief for the people of Odisha from sizzling heat in the next 20 days as the monsoon may be delayed by three to four days and that too depends on the low pressure in Bay of Bengal, predicts met department. Normally monsoon approaches the state on around June 10.

Two weeks back the Met had predicted that south-west monsoon would hit the coast of Kerala on June 1. Reviewing that report, the experts of the state assumed that it would hit Odisha on June 10.

Weather expert Dr. Surendranatha Pasupalak also seems confused monsoon forecast prediction. Some days back he informed that this year monsoon would come on its normal time but on Friday he said that the monsoon may not approach on normal schedule as movement of the monsoon from Andaman is looking very slow.

Meanwhile, the people in many cities of the state are facing tough days as the temperature has crossed 41 degree mark.

On Thursday, the temperature of at least 16 cities was recorded at 41 degree celsius and Sambalpur tops the table with 46 degree celsius.
