Madras HC slammed

Over 15000 advocates boycotted Madras High Court proceedings on Jan 8, demanding transparency in the selection process of new judges and recalling a list of 12 names recommended to the Supreme Court. They shouted slogans against the inclusion of names of three Brahmin advocates in the selection list, alleging that the inclusion is not fair as there are already seven Brahmin judges in the Madras High Court. The previous day, R K Agarwal, Chief justice of the Madras high court, had come under siege for over an hour.
