JUI To parley With TTP

One of the biggest political players in Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has reportedly told Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that he is going to facilitate the talks with Taliban should the government desire that. The meeting took in the garrison city of Rawalpindi and was attended by Pakistani Home Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Information & Broadcasting Minister Pervez Rashid among others. It has been revealed that the government has negotiated several rounds of clandestine dialogue with the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its allies over the last few months but it has not borne any result. “Unofficial talks between the government side and Taliban are in progress,” Rashid had said a couple of months ago in reply a question by the media.
