Consultant for Agra Ring Road selected

The state’s Industrial Development Commissioner announced the selection of a consultant for the 24.5 kilometre Agra inner ring road to be developed on the PPP mode today.


The selected consultant M/s Casta Engineers Pvt Ltd of New Delhi will be required to expedite the Project Study, Technical Feasibility Study, Financial Viability Study, as well as oversee the entire bid process management.


The project is crucial to tackle the huge inflow of traffic within Agra city ever since the Yamuna Expressway became operational.


Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Anil K Gutpa said, “This road will be linked to the upcoming Agra-Lucknow Greenfield expressway, aiding tourist access to Taj Mahal in particular and regional tourism in general. It will also provide much needed infrastructure to enterprises and industries in the area to transport their raw material and produce.”


The six lane ring road will start near Kuberpur on Kanpur Road (NH-2), join Yamuna Expressway and end at Rohta on Gwalior road (NH-3).


The consultant will exploring the alignment, assess of requirement of bridges, railway over-bridges, feasibility model, get necessary clearances from Environment Ministry, Government of India as well as manage the entire bidding process for selection of developer.
