Badal pledges full support to Ramdev

Punjab Chief Minister and Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday assured full support and co-operation to  Baba Ramdev in his  fight again back black money stashed in foreign banks.

Baba Ramdev called on Badal senior at his official residence to seek co-operation of the Akali Dal for his campaign beginning August 9. Badal said the UPA led Congress government due to its ill-conceived and anti-people policies had thrust social maladies of unemployment, corruption, poverty and illiteracy on the countrymen besides denying them basic civic amenities even after a span of more than six decades of independence. He said the Centre had hardly taken any step to bring the black money hoarded illegally in the foreign banks.

The Chief Minister said that the Akali Dal had been time and again impressing upon the UPA government to immediately bring back the ill-gotten money hidden in the foreign banks so that it could be judiciously utilized for funding welfare schemes for millions of poor across the country.

Reiterating his party’s commitment to wipe out corruption from the country, Badal said his party would extend all out support to Baba Ramdev for this noble cause.

Badal assured the Baba that Akali Dal MPs would take up this issue in the coming session of the Parliament to mount pressure on the  government for taking time bound action in this regard.

Expressing gratitude to Baba Ramdev for raising this major issue, he said it was the duty of every Indian to rally solidly behind such movements so that the society could be freed from the clutches of social, economic and political problems faced by it.

Baba Ramdev  said  he had specifically chosen  August 9 to start his campaign against black money as it was on this  day that Mahatma Gandhi launched the ‘Quit India Movement’ which had forced the British to free India from yoke of foreign imperialism.
