Fire kills 73 in AMRI hospital
| More than 70 people are reported dead after a massive fire broke out in Kolkata's AMRI hospital on Friday. It is suspected that fire originated in the electrical department in the basement of centrally air conditioned building, that swiftly spread across the hospital building. 25 Firefighting teams were dispatched to the site to evacuate all patients and staff. Rescue operations are still under progress even after hours since the fire broke out. Mamata Banerjee, chief minister of West Bengal, has ordered FIR against hospital authorities. |
