The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Saturday nominated Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna Award respectively.

BCCI chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty said the two have been nominated.

The sports ministry had extended the the deadline for the nominations till July 20 after BCCI failed to nominate players last month.

Yuvraj has recovered from a rare germ cell cancer and has started training at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

The 39-year-old Dravid, who ended his international career in March, becomes the third cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni to get the Khel Ratna.

Dravid made over 23,000 international runs since making a debut against England at Lord's in 1996.
