Will sops stop suicides?

 

 

"Budgetary sops and a Widows’ Army! " (TSI, Feb23-March1) cover story was enough to unveil the reality of India. It is really sad to know that though the governments are spending crores together for the welfare of farmers, it is not reaching the real consumer. And Jai Kisan has become the famous slogan of every election manifesto. ‘Pamper to fetch the vote and later damper voters’ dreams’ is the staunch mission of our netas. To top all the anomalies, Minister for Agriculture is more attracted towards cricket and its celebration than hanging farmers and their shattered dreams. If it keeps on going, then the day when one has to plough field for his daily bread is not so far!
