Why is india dippy about deepika?

 

 

She is being spoken of as the biggest find in Bollywood in quite some time! With a charming screen presence, it’s wonderful the way she holds her own with veteran actors like Shah Rukh and Arjun. In an exclusive conversation with TSI, Deepika Padukone reveals her excitement.

So how does it feel to see OSO doing so well?

We were always very sure of the film, but this kind of huge response to my performance too was totally unexpected! I know I had worked hard, but this feels really good.

What was the best thing about OSO as far as you are concerned?

Well, working with Farah Khan – basically, getting such a talented lady as my first director. It made things very comfortable. She was always very clear in her mind about what she wanted.

What are the special comments you have been getting?

Oh, everything is really special. Special is the way audiences have loved my performance. It feels wonderful to hear that I bring a fresh look to the film, that I have a great screen presence, that I look confident while being in the same frame as Shah Rukh!

How was it working with SRK?

He is a great person to be around with. He gave me a lot of confidence and there is so much to learn from him, from the way he acts to the way he handles his life!

How does it feel to be fielded against other newcomers in Saawariya and beating them?

It didn’t make a difference that they were also being launched together, because I did my absolute best and put my heart and soul into the film! Finally, what was it that you think made OSO work so well?

Farah Khan! It’s Farah’s magic which made the film work. She has not learnt direction in any school. She has learnt it through her experience and that’s why she is so good. I wish I get to do many more films with her and Red Chillies.
