As the term of Tejinder Khanna as Lt Governor of Delhi is nearing its end, who will replace him at Raj Niwas has become the hot topic for discussion in the corridors of power in the city.
Khanna has served Delhi for last five years. Names of several retired bureaucrats, including ex-Delhi police commissioner KK Paul and ex-chief secretary of Rajasthan, Salahuddin Ahmed are doing the rounds for the top post.
It is being said that Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is not in favor of KK Paul.
The change of guard may take place after the Presidential elections, sources said.
Former MCD Commissioner,SP Agarwal and former election commissioner Naveen Chawla, a close confidante of 10 Janpath, are also contenders for the post.
According to sources, Chawla is not interested in the post as he wants a bigger role in a full fleged state.
It is learnt that the name of a senior politician from Rajasthan, Sheesh Ram Ola,is also under consideration. But it is said that he too is disinterested in the post as he wants to remain in active politics.
