War of words takes place in AP Assembly

When Labour Minister Danam Nagender openly threatened a Telugu Desam Party MLA in AP Assembly today, there developed a very tense situation. This led to the emabarrasement of both the government and the Opposition.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was forced to rebuke his Cabinet colleague and get the intemperate remarks expunged from records to restore peace in the House. The Labour Minister lost his temper when TDP member A Revanth Reddy made a certain personal remark against the former during the brief discussion on power crisis.

A few minutes earlier, the Minister intervened in the discussion, though he was in no way connected with the subject, and made critical remarks against the TDP. This led the TDP legislator to hit back.
But Nagender used intemperate language while seeking to retort the TDP member's criticism, angering Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu.

"This is totally unbecoming of a Minister to use such intemperate language and threaten a member on the floor of the House. The Chair should come to our rescue. The Chief Minister owes an answer on this," Naidu told Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who was in the Chair. The former Chief Minister also hit back at the Labour Minister in a harsh tone.

Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu further aggravated the situation by trying to defend Nagender. The TDP members stormed the Speaker's podium protesting the Labour Minister's outburst and demanding an answer from the Chief Minister.
