The Fair of Saint Orso is an annual affair in the valley of Aosta, some 100 kms away from Turin, Italy, since the past one thousand years. From then to now, the fair has been showcasing the exquisite crafts of the people, from wood sculptures and carvings, willow baskets, objects made from the locally found local ‘ollare’ stone and wrought iron, to even toys and masks. As thousands of tourists pour in, most locals disregard the profits and value it more as an opportunity for celebrating their cultural roots and finding true admirers of the skills handed down through the generations...
