Two dominating ladies

 

 

Arindam Chaudhuri's thought-provoking editorial "Sonia and Mamta: The Tale of Two Ladies" (TSI, July 27-August 2) reminds me of Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities". Recently, both the ladies have hogged the headlines and have shaped the political configuration - one at the Centre and the other in West Bengal. What is the substance of political and economic reforms to galvanise the masses and to overcome the ill-effects of recessionary trajectory in the economy at present would prove to be their Kurushetra.
