We all know that the way something feels depends on its weight, texture, and temperature. So when you pick up something it feels different to what it would if you rubbed your fingers along its surface. Scientists say that a better understanding of the sense of touch could lead to major advances in medicine, space exploration, robotics, and even video games. They say that some day people on earth might be able to control space probes that are millions of miles away by using robotic tools that allow them to actually feel what they’re doing.
