Scientists are intrigued by the rise in appearance of jellyfish, that too in large numbers, in areas which should not have these creatures in abundance. This has now led to the jellyfish clogging pipes that bring water into the power plants. Scientists are worried about this unusual influx and feel that one cause of the same could be the changes in the environment brought about by human beings; with more power plants, the water gets warmer, leading to more plankton which means more food for jellyfish.
