To whom should we blame?

To whom shall we blame for rampant corruption in our country? Recently, Anna Hazare and Co. held agitation against Government for their demand of Lokpal bill. They demanded to nail politicians and bureaucrats as well as Government employees who are blamed for bribes and corruption. The question that still remains is: will Lokpal Bill be able to counter corruption in our country when bribes are diverse in our blood and genes?

One media report says that many students of class 10th and 12th, affiliated to the Uttar Pradesh Education Board had allegedly put currency notes in their answer sheets to bribe evaluators. Currency notes in denomination of Rs.10, Rs.20, Rs.50 and Rs.100 were found in many answer sheets. Some even contained notes of Rs.500 also.

Not only that, one answer sheet carried Rupees 100 denomination and a slip along with. And in the slip, it was written that 'such more can be yours'. It also carried a mobile phone number.

We are pressing to clean our political and administration system but where do stand when our turn comes. Do we follow the rules and laws which are formulated by our government? When even the youth are trying to bribe evaluators to get more marks, what can be said. To whom we should blame?

Ethics and moral values have been evaporated from our society and everybody is in hurry to become a successful entity by hook or crook. Corruption has bonded in our genes and it seems that from childhood it develops in our body. No Hazare or Lokpal can remove it from our system.
