Three poachers shot dead in Kaziranga National Park

Three poachers have been killed in a shootout with forest guards in Kaziranga National Park(KNP) in Assam on Friday.
      
The shootout took place at Naltola under Kohora range of the Park after a gun shot was heard by patrolling forest guards, KNP divisional forest officer Dibyadhar Gogoi said.
      
An encounter ensued between the guards and a gang of five poachers in which the three were killed and two managed to escape.
      
A .303 rifle was recovered from the slain militants, Gogoi said adding a search operation has been launched to nab the escaped duo.
