E-Mail Womens dignity

I like the way you always come up with issues related to woman dignity. And the current wave of woman molestation in the New Year ushered in a new avatar. Unless laws are modified, this crime will get worse. We need strict laws and their enforcement. This crime has been treated as trivial by the ‘judicial system’. Ironically, the law is represented by a blindfolded woman. It’s about time we opened her eyes to usher in a fresh law system. Our existing laws are moribund. We have to put fear into the molesters and if possible, enforce the highest punishment by bringing them to book.

Pune Riding on tigers...

The parallels drawn by Arindham Chaudhury in his brilliant editorial (TSI January 14, 2008) brings to my mind John F. Kennedy's famous lines–“Those who ride on tigers often end up inside.” Since the time of its creation, the embrace between the Pakistani politicians and Islamic radicals has been strong and constant. Hopefully, young dynastic leaders like Rahul and Bilawal will pay heed to Arindham Chaudhury’s billion dollar suggestions. Despite her many blimps as a politician, Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan’s most charismatic political figure, will be remembered for her relentless crusade against Pakistan’s total-itarian military rulers and staunch opposition to the extremist forces. Her departure has indeed landed Pakistan in a mess from where it will be hard, if not impossible for it to come out.
