The Final Destination

 

 

After exhausting all sorts of weird ways that people can die as death haunts them, the guys behind the “Final Destination” franchise obviously thought that the only way to add a new dimension (pun totally intended) to a stale plot was to make it in 3D. It is a pity you can’t watch it in that format in Indian theaters, and as such the movie then is left with nothing new to offer. So, this time the action begins at a race track where Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo) has a premonition about a deadly crash and he and his friends escape the accident served by his warning. Then, as in the earlier three movies, death starts stalking all those who escaped their fate at the race track.

The whole routine becomes predictable soon enough and if you’re not watching in 3D, very boring too. Worse, even if you were watching in 3D the flying body parts might just gross you out. The elaborate death set ups, which can be dangerous and hilarious, in the same breath provide some interesting moments but it probably is not enough to make the trip to the movie hall worthwhile. Unless you are a big fan of the franchise and of 3D, there really is no reason why you should be hovering anywhere near this flick.
