First Arunachalee Everester, Tapi Mra created yet another record by scaling Mount Kosciuszko in Australia along with fellow climber Lobsang Phuntsok of Tawang.

Principal Resident Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh government based in New Delhi Avinash Kumar Mishra on Wednesday said that Mra's expedition to Mount Kosciuszko, which is 7,316 feet above the sea level, was a part of his "Seven Summit Mission".

Mra scaled Mount Phuntsok on Tuesday, Mishra said.  Beside Mount Everest, Tapi has conquered Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa and now the highest peak in Australia. He also attempted Mt Aconcagua, the highest peak in North America, but the expedition had to be abandoned due to unfavourable weather condition.

"We conquered it. We are standing at the top of Australia. No words to express our happiness," they expressed their jubilation to Mishra over telephone after they scaled the mountain. "We are extremely happy to represent India here and proud to be Arunachalee," they said.

Both Tapi and Phuntsok expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin, Industries and Fisheries Minister Tako Dabi, PHE Minister Chowna Mein for their constant support and encouragement.
