Sudheeran demands CBI probe in MCL issue

Senior Congress leader V M Sudheeran on Saturday demanded CBI probe into the alleged rampant corruption in the state-owned Malabar Cements ltd and urged Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to take immediate steps in this regard.

In a statement here, Sudheeran said the investigating agency was probing the mysterious murder of the former company secretary of the MCL, V Saseendran and his two children.

Though vigilance inquiries were on into the alleged corruption and malpractices in the MCL, earnest efforts were being held by top officials to sabotage such inquiries, he said which necessitated a CBI probe.
